The Problem Is Us
We have a fatal problem that stands between God and us. God is totally holy, just and wise. We are not. By nature, we all fall utterly short of God's law and standard. This is sin and it separates us from Him! Our sin and rebellion have devastating consequences through this life. Just look around at this troubled world. Our sin also has devastating consequences throughout our eternity because the penalty for our sin is death and everlasting destruction away from God's presence. This is hell. 2-7
The Answer Is Jesus
God is also totally loving and desires a relationship with us. This is why He sent his Son to pay the death penalty for our sin. Jesus was crucified on a cross, a horrific death. Why Jesus? Only Jesus is righteous and without sin. Only He could satisfy our death penalty. His payment for our sin is an unmerited gift, but like any gift, it must be received! 8-14
The gift of God is pardon for sin, relationship with God, abundant life and eternal life through Jesus Christ!
